Richard Mitchley

 

A resident of Monmoth and a Welsh speaker, Richard Mitchley is an accomplished actor having appeared in countless radio dramas and with many years of experience in the theatre. His television work includes roles alongside Sylvester McCoy in Doctor Who and Rowan Atkinson in Blackadder. He is a regular announcer for the S4C and Channel 4 television channels.

 

Richard is a respected and versatile audio book reader and his recordings for children have included books by Anne Fine and Terry Pratchett and, for Craftsman Audio Books, John Masefield's The Midnight Folk and The Box of Delights.

 

 

A committed choral singer, his vocal characterizations are a strong feature of the recording of The Midnight Folk.

 

Richard has both knowledge and a love of Welsh culture from Rugby to poetry. His family have lived at Parc-y-gors near the Welsh coast since the 1950s. A life-long amateur naturalist and historian, he has walked all over Wales and trekked in Nepal, India, New Zealand and Europe.
